At this time all individuals 70 years or older in Colorado are eligible to receive the vaccine.

Loss of smell and taste with COVID-19

A recent study from France analyzed the loss of smell and taste associated with COVID-19 illness.

People with milder illness were much more likely to have altered or loss of smell and taste than those with severe illness, 25% vs 5%.

Their evaluation showed that 3/4 will recover their sense of taste and smell in 2 months and 19/20 will recover within 6 months.

Can it be permanent? I suspect it will be for a small number of people.
