No new breakthroughs have come forth from the medical world this past week. Lots of studies underway, but nothing conclusive yet.
We appear to be on the downside of the curve of the initial wave of COVID-19 locally, nationally, and globally. The big questions now are how and when to begin to move about with minimal spread of the virus. A hasty move to reopen the economy will only result in another wave of illness and death.
Some European countries are beginning to relax their restrictions. We will have to see how that works as they expose uninfected individuals to the disease floating around their country.
Despite previous reports from China that things were settling down, it is clear that they are still having outbreaks and the need to institute quarantine measures. It also underscores the unreliability of information from Chinese-sponsored news sources.
A study from the CDC released this Monday shows that the stay in place mandates do make a difference in the spread of coronavirus infections. The study was performed in Seattle, New York, New Orleans, and San Francisco.
States, like South Dakota, that did not implement mandatory stay in place restrictions are now seeing many more new cases.

About 2 miles up the creek I saw one 6 incher. Not the most robust fishery, but nice for photography!

Thank you for the blog. Great information. Will there be testing for Covid or antibody testing once we start lifting restrictions? Can we go to you to get those tests? Seems as though that will be needed to lift the restrictions to feel safe to go out again.
I am hopeful at some point we will be able to test everyone, but for now the testing is limited. The antibody test is hopefully soon around the corner, and we can see who is immune and who is not. I suspect the first use of the antibody test will be to clarify who can give convalescent plasma for ICU use.
